Thomas Merton is arguably the most influential Catholic writer of the twentieth century. In this course we will look at the many facets of Thomas Merton’s life journey – priest and monk, hermit and activist, theologian and mystic, poet and writer, explorer of the spiritual path – “to become a complete and whole person with an instinctive and generous need to further the same wholeness in others and all human kind.”
